Back to all posts. Last week we celebrated Phil Keaggy's 60th birthday. Hard to comprehend how time flies and how many years we've been friends I met him when I was There was a birthday bash at Phil's house on Sunday thrown by his wonderful wife Bernadette. Lots of people shared in the festivities and a splendid time was had by all. On Monday Phil's old band mates from Glass Harp came to town. In case you don't know, that grouped consisted of Phil on guitar, John Sferra on drums and my cousin Dan Pecchio on bass.

We spent Monday night at Phil's reminicsing about days gone by and all of our shenanigans when we were teenagers. I could write a book! I've had the privilege of sharing the stage with those lads a number of times and it's usually on a big stage in front of thousands of people.

John has already laid down tracks here for various artists that I'm producing, Phil has recorded here also and Dan is working on a solo project that I'll be laying some tracks on. I can't tell you what a joy it is to work with these guys. They are literally my family.

Maybe someday we'll all get to live in the same town. Makes me want to remind everybody to tell those that are important to you how much you love them whenever you can. Hope things are going well for you and please drop me a line to let me know what's up with you and yours. Sincerely - Mike p. Add comment.

Cleveland-area freelance writer Adams has left out little in this musical history of the port city, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Her aptly titled book opens with rock's roots in Read full review. The information in this book is "hearsay" and not accurate at all. I know, because I was an integral part of the scene for more years than I care to admit to.

Glass Harp. Can you see me brother Walking down the lonely road? Can you see me sister Help me find where I must go Look for the signs in the stars To help us find what must be ours For those behind the lonely bars We'll help to see Can you see me brother Here I stand I'm all alone Can you see me sister I hear the cries among my own There are too many people Saying what it's all about Should be praying to find Themselves and not an out For I know that it's hard to see All the things we ought to be Many things we cannot see are there The Son died for you and me That we may live eternally Through Him there is a peace we can share Yes, we can share For I know that it's hard to see All the things we ought to be Many things we cannot see are there The Son died for you and me That we may live eternally Through Him there is a peace we can share Yes, we can share Can you see me brother? Can you see me sister?

Can You See Me

The trio attracted some attention throughout the Northeaster, Ohio music scene, playing parties, dances and clubs. He was replaced by The Poppy bassist Dan Pecchio. The small Youngstown, Ohio United Audio label signed the trio Keaggy having just turned 18 , funding an album's worth of demos and releasing a one-shot, psych-tinged single, before dropping the group:. Mersenstein flew to Ohio to check the band out and subsequently signed them to a recording deal with Decca Records. I was interested in hearing the collection, but the fact I'd read some reviews that tagged it as heavily religious and the inflow of other albums saw it sink further and further down the stack. And then by an odd coincidence I happened to hear one of the songs off the set 'Can You See Me' and decided I needed to check the rest of the album out. Produced by Merenstein, their debut featured an all original set of material with all three members contributing to the writing chores.

Can You See Me Lyrics

Everything I thought was given to me Everything I thought was mine Now You're asking me to up and leave it all behind. Every little thing I held so precious Every little thing so dear Now You're asking me to leave it all right here. You hold my future In the palm of Your hand You whisper something My heart can understand.

Can You See Me

Glass Harp is a three man band that dates from the early 's. But, as each of the bands mentioned has a sound unique to themselves, Glass Harp has its own unique and very musical sound. They can and do rock, but other times their sounds converge to a spacey kind of folk. Many of Glass Harp's songs travel from soft and airy musical fantasies to down right mystical rock-n-roll jams. Glass Harp is: Phil Keaggy, guitars, vocals; John Sferra, drums, acoustic guitar, tambourine, vocals; and Dan Pecchio, bass, flute, vocals. Phil Keaggy is a outstanding guitarist that has released dozens of solo albums. Some are very similar to Glass Harp, and many are very different.

One of the first Christian-themed pop/rock acts, Glass Harp included singer/guitarist Phil Keaggy, bassist Dan Pecchio, Can You See Me (Live); Glass Harp.
