23 Bible Verses about Learning

It is familiarly quoted using the King James Version translation:. The verse is widely used to oppose women from being trained and ordained as clergy , and from women holding certain other positions of ministry and leadership in large segments of Christianity. Those segments include Roman Catholics , the Southern Baptist Convention , and other particularly conservative evangelical Protestants. Among Roman Catholics, only men may receive the sacrament of Holy Orders to become clergy deacons , priests , and bishops , though non- liturgical leadership roles are often available to both religious and lay women. Most conservative evangelical churches are complementarian in theology and practices.

And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. 1 Timothy 2:12

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit. As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. With whom did He consult and who gave Him understanding? And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledge And informed Him of the way of understanding?

Our last time together in this letter was to see what John had to say about the tremendous adequacy of the Word of God to bring us, if we submit to it, to the full experience of vital, fruitful living. It never fails to thrill me that Christianity is not trying to produce religious plaster saints, but thoroughly human individuals who operate as God intended them to operate. The whole thrust of the Christian message is to the end that we experience life as God intended life to be. And the instrument that will do this is the Word of God. It is designed to that end. But someone says, "This is where I have problems.

But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true--it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. Instead, his anointing teaches you about all things and is true and is not a lie; just as it has taught you, remain in him. What does 1 John mean? According to John, this anointing "abides in you.
